Bathing in the Baltic sea, sitting on sun warmed cliffs, and listening to the gulls has always filled me with such peace. There's a reason so many of us feel called, and calmed, by the ocean. The sound of the waves crashing by the shore, the salty smell of the breeze. The sea invites both deep serenity, and thrill.

I've always had a special place in my heart for the birds that live by water. The laughter of the gulls, and the way the sunlight illuminates their white wings as they soar overhead. Gulls the ultimate symbol of freedom for me. I fantasize about gliding effortlessly over the vast, open ocean. Or sitting pearched on the top of a high cliff, singing from the top of my lungs. Or floating on the still mirror of a lake at sundown.

These are the atmospheres and moods I want to invoke with this watercolor collection. I hope my paintings fill you with the the same peace and wonder I feel whenever I visit the archipelago. And I invite you to bring a piece of it home with you, should you feel called.
