About me
The short version
- I’m a watercolor artist, who mostly paints birds and animals.
- I create courses in drawing and painting.
- I run a blog and YouTube channel about becoming a better creative, (without burning out or going insane.)
- I was born in Stockholm, but now live in a house on the countryside with my husband. (Slightly south of Gävle.)
- I sing, and play piano and guitar.
- I spend most of my spare time reading books, playing video games, lifting weights, and watching birds.
My art
Although I’ve always dabbled in art, my real art journey started in the midst of burnout, and a global pandemic. I had left my previous job as a freelance copywriter and web designer, was on sick leave, and felt broken, exhausted, and confused.
So I started painting.
I was drawn to painting nature and wildlife in particular, and the watercolors allowed me to capture what I feel when I look at birds, spot a fox in the woods, or just stroll through the forest.
The unpredicable nature of this medium challenges me to release control and go with the flow. And no medium captures the atmosphere of nature like watercolors do. Or the shimmering blues and greens in a magpie’s plumage.
