Commissions

Want a custom-made artwork just for you or a loved one?

I happily paint animals (wild ones or pets) on commission, to create something perfect for your space, or a thoughtful gift to someone you love. Use the form below to request a commissioned painting, or read on for more info.

Subject

I primarily paint wildlife - animals, birds, insects. Maybe you’d like a painting similar to an unavailable original, or something new, like a beloved pet or a spirit animal.

If the commission in a pet portrait, I will need some good quality photographs of the animal. Existing photos might work, but if possible, I’ll guide you in taking some new ones. If you’re less than a few hours away from where I live, I might also (for an additional fee) be able to come and take the photos myself.

If the commission is for another animal or scene, we’ll collaborate in planning the artwork and gathering references.

Deposit

A signed contract and 50% deposit is required before I can start work.

The contract can be signed digitally and remotely.

The deposit is non-refundable, with the rest due upon delivery of the artwork. (If for some reason you need to back out of the project, your deposit can be applied to any original art on my website.)

Process

In order to assure the highest quality artwork - something that will bring you or someone else joy for many years to come - I work closely with you during the painting process. We will create a mood board together, collect reference photos, and decide on a color palette. I will do some preliminary sketches, so that you can get a feel for what the final painting will look like.

When you have approved of a sketch, I will start the painting process. This will take anywhere from 4-8 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the painting, and my schedule. (If you have a deadline for the painting, let me know in the form and I’ll see if I can accomodate that.)

I will create two or sometimes more artworks during this time, so that you will have some exciting options to choose from, and so that I can feel more free and at ease during the painting process. Watercolor doesn’t allow for much editing, so a final painting is final in most cases. My aim is always for you to be absolutely delighted with the final piece.

Delivery

Paintings are delivered unframed, and signed on the front and back.

I ship paintings internationally, always packed very securely, and with tracking. If we live closeby one another, we can of course arrange for you to pick the painting up in person, or for me to deliver the painting to you.

Prices

The following are my most common sizes for watercolor paintings, and their prices. (Currency conversion is approximate.)

If you’re after a particular size, let me know in the form and I’ll give you a custom quote.

50% of the price is required as a deposit, before we start working on the painiting. The rest is due upon final delivery. Payment can be made via direct bank deposit, credit card, or invoice. Let me know your preferences.
